Problem Solved

Many, many thanks to DaNell! She was able to add a little brown back into by hair & make it look exactly how I wanted. She also trimmed up my hair cut (which was somewhat of a disaster) All in all, I've learned my lesson. Don't take the cheap way out. And once again, many thanks to DaNell. I owe you!

Best Dinner Ever

We had a great time making dinner today. I started out by throughing frozen chicken into a crockpot full of chicken broth. I let it cook until I couldn't bear the great smell any longer. Then I shredded it & put it aside until later.
Next, we made our dough. It's a great white bread recipe that works great for pizza also. (you can substitute with wheat flour if you would like.) I grew up eating this bread & it makes the best toast!

Bread Recipe - by Jeanne Mitchell

3 C. warm water
2 Tbsp yeast
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp salt
-Mix together and let set fir a few min. while yeast works.
-Add
3 C. bread flour
2 Tbsp wheat gluten
1/2 C. oil
-Mix with a whisk-mix well
-Add
3 C. bread flour
-Mix with a spoon
-Knead in upto 3 C. bread flour (I usually use 2 1/2)
-Knead until smooth and elastic
-Let rise for 1 hour or till double
-Make into 3 loaves & knead out air bubbles
-Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 min on top rack, then switch to bottom rack for 20 min.
-Let cool on rack for crunchy crust.

(for pizza- 1/3 recipe makes 2 pizzas - only let rise once. Bake pizzas at 450 degrees for 5 min on top rack and 3-5 min on bottom rack, or until crust is brown and delicious)
Once the dough was ready, we rolled it out and added our delicious toppings. (I was using up some old toppings, so they ran a little thin)
Pizza #1 had BBQ sauce, chicken, olives, mushrooms and mozzerella

Pizza #2 had tomato sauce, olives mushrooms and cheddar
I must say, they turned out FABULOUS! All in all it was a great dinner night with Madi.

Possible Hair Tragedy

So I bought one of those "do it yourself" hair highlights from the store. (Always a mistake) I don't know what I was thinking. It always turns out looking "home done" and something usually goes wrong. I guess I just convinced myself that $6.23 couldn't be beat. I was wrong. First of all it was one of those kits with a cap - you pull you hair through tons of little holes. That takes forever! Second, I left it on for 20min... major mistake! It said to check it every 5-10 min. I should have done what it said. My hair is super blonde and a little splotchy. I'll have to see what I can do. Good thing it's just hair & it will grow out soon enough. Just heed my warning & don't buy the do it yourself hair dye...EVER!

Fun in the Kitchen

Between making regular meals, making sweets I'm craving, and trying to restock the freezer, I'm spending most of my time in the kitchen. When baking, Madi loves to help.
In this picture she is helping me make banana bread... oh darn, we didn't eat the bananas in time.
Madi came parading into the kitchen like this. I thought it was great! When I started laughing, she charged me. What a funny girl I have.
War paint? Actually, it's pudding... I guess this is the cool thing to do... when you are done eating, you smear the remainder on your body.

Keepin' Cool

So, we moved into a new house about 1 1/2 weeks ago. We love the house & I love the backyard even more! It has grass, a swingset, and a garden spot. I'm super excited!
Madi and Tristen had a great time in the pool.

I was mid diaper change & Madi bolted for the backyard (where Carson was) I couldn't resist...
