"I AM NOT a woman who can always resist chocolate, wears make up to the pool, and has spotless floors all the time. But I am strong. I am invincible. I AM MOM." ~B.O.B

The Stories They Could Tell...

So when Carson and I went to Chile Jan. 07, a very sweet family wouldn't let us leave without a pair of spurs. They are silver spurs & have been in their family for 104 years. He said he wanted us to have them. They treated us like family. I wish we could see them again.

I wanted to display the spurs, since they are so old & it was such a wonderful gift. Today I finally found the perfect case for them. I've looked for one for the last year and a half.

Fun with Mom

She can now sit and hold on to her pony.

We had a fun day making our first living room tent. I know she won't remember, but I felt like the coolest mom around!

Happy Father's Day

I hope everyone (father's that is) had a wonderful Father's Day. I personally have a great father. He raised me (and continues to guide me) well. Happy Father's Day, Dad.
Also, it was my husband's first Father's Day. So it had to be one to remember. So we made him a shirt. He loved it!
(putting an 8 month old's hand prints on a shirt with paint is VERY HARD!)

Campout at Mormon Lake

Madi couldn't stop looking at the fire.
We all had a great time.
We borrowed a toyhauler from a friend. We took our quads & had a blast!

We cooked out & Madi LOVED the grahm cracker! (who doesn't?)
We all went riding. (even Charlie) It was a blast! I strapped Madi to my chest & was extra careful. Infact, the ride put her to sleep.

New Kicks

Madi got new shoes. She is growing too fast!

Spaghetti

Our first finger food spaghetti! She couldn't get enough!

Reunion Apron Swap

My mom's family is having an apron swap. Everyone particiapting was given a name of someone else to make an apron for. We will reveal who had who & exchange the aprons at the reunion. I won't be able to make it to the reunion, but am very excited to give my apron and get one in return. I'm very grateful to be part of such a crafty family. Anyway, this is the fabric I'm making my apron out of. I can't show any more of the apron for fear my person will know who they are. (secrets, secrets) This has been quite a challenge for me. I've never made an apron before. In fact, I've made 2 quilts in my life & both with my mother by my side. So, I have to guess at what I'm doing & hope my apron won't fall apart once washed. Also, I'm using a machine that needs tuning. So I've had a few challenges. To say the least, I'm excited & hope everything turn out good. I'll show the full apron after the reveal.

A New World

On Tuesday, Madi figured out how to shuffle around the floor. Her new found interests are shoes and dog food. I wasn't nearly as prepared for her to crawl as I thought I was. I've now entered a whole new world of parenting.
