New Project

So I know a lot of people that make or buy a Colors book for their children. You know to help them learn their colors. Well I wanted to do something a little different & I suddenly want to know how to sew. I decided to make a colors quilt/wallhanging. (not sure which it will be yet) I'm pretty excited about it! It's turning out great so far. I plan on surrounding each color with white & also putting a white block below each color. That way I can write or stitch the colors name under it. So far I have each color block done. I'll post the final project when I'm done. (so excited!)

I've been Tagged!!

THE RULES:
1. link the person who tagged you
2. post the rules
3. tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them

~I have craft envy. I love to do crafts, but feel like I can never stand up to the same craftiness as my family. Not just mother and sisters... I'm talking cousins, aunts, and grandmother. I fear I will never be as absolutely amazing as those that surround me.

~I can't watch scary movies any more. I used to love them! Now, I watch one and I freak myself out for days... if not weeks. It's as if once I got married I didn't have to be brave any more.

~I pick my nose. That's right. I said it. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there either. Sometimes... or a lot of the time... not everything will blow into a tissue.

~I always want to meet new people, but then freak out in the end. (Like in our ward) I will work all day to convince Carson to go with me to a church activity so we can meet new people. When we get there, I'm glued to his side and as shy as can be. We end up going home at the end the same as we came.

~I'm a pants wetter. Some of you already know this. Even before I had Madi... You make me laugh just right & I would pee my pants (even in public). Now that I've had Madi... You just get me laughing & then have Carson laugh at me for laughing & it's all over... or should I say wet.

~I'm the complete opposite of a germ-o-phob. I know I should care more, but I don't. My way of thinking is, "People have managed to survive this long, it must not be too bad." Mind you I wash my hands and what not, but if I drop a peice of food on the floor (depending on location) I won't hesitate to eat it. I will share a drink or a utensil (with people I know) without a second thought.

'76 Chevy

Carson has been looking for a 2nd vehicle. Nothing expensive, just something to use when needed. He really wanted another truck... and he found it. This is our new, orange, '76 chevy. The guy we bought it from just put a new engine in it & replaced a bunch of other things for his nephew. Unfortunately for him... his parents said he couldn't have it. We bought it for a pretty sweet price & have already had some fun in it. Madi loves it too.

Yes it is lifted & HUGE! I can't even get in without pulling up from the roof.

We are trying to think of a fun name for it... Carson likes "The Cheeto" I like "The Big Cheese"
What are your ideas?.....

New Fun Trick

Madi is now walking. She won't walk everywhere. She basically walks from one item to the next. She is doing it more and more often. And she has a little more confidence every day. Hurray!

Baptism

We went to Utah for the weekend. That's 10 hrs there & 10 hrs back. We left Friday night and returned Sunday night. I know... it sounds crazy. Man was it worth it. Not only did I get to see 2 of my sisters (YEAH!) A good friend of ours decided to get baptized. Our friend, Natalie, called us one day & stated she wanted to go to church. Before we could get her information to the missionaries in her area, she took it upon herself to find them. She was ready. She later called us to tell us she was going to get baptized. I was pretty excited & Carson said no matter what... we'd be there.

TEETH! (or should I say tooth)

Madi's first tooth cut through Sunday night! Unfortuately, Carson is in Colorado this week. So I've had to deal with the sad, feverish, tempermental baby by myself. She would cry and fuss. I felt real bad. I'd try to give her tylenol & she would fight me. And don't even think about putting your finger in her mouth to put numbing medicine on her gums. (You would think I pulled her arm off with my bare hands the way she would scream and cry.) I think she seems a little more like herself today & she doesn't seem to have a fever any more. One down... how many to go?

My First Homemade Bag!

I'm so excited! I was sitting around trying to think of something to do. I remembered I had some left over fabric (from the apron swap) I decided to try to make a bag. I've been wanting something in between a diaper bag and a purse. So I gave it a try while staying up late watching the olypmics. (amazing) I just finished it & I'm so happy with how it turned out. I know it looks simple, but you have to remember I made my own pattern & have never made anything even close to this before. I'm so excited!
